Support at Home Funding

What it is: Support at Home is the Australian Government’s in-home aged care program to help eligible older people stay living at home.

How funding can apply to equipment: Depending on your assessment and plan, your provider may be able to approve certain assistive technology/equipment (and related supports) under Support at Home arrangements.

Is this product covered? Maybe. Coverage depends on your eligibility, assessed needs, and provider approval—not the product alone. We can’t confirm funding approval for you.

What you may need: Provider confirmation and (often) an OT/clinician recommendation plus a quote/tax invoice.

We can help: We can provide a quote/invoice and product details for you to share with your provider.

NDIS

What it is: The NDIS can fund disability-related equipment (assistive technology) when it supports your goals and meets the “reasonable and necessary” criteria.

Key rule: The NDIS won’t fund items that are day-to-day living costs not related to disability needs, or that are the responsibility of another service system (e.g., mainstream health/education).

This product: May be supported if it’s disability-related, aligns with your plan goals, and your plan has the right budget/category (and approvals if required). We can’t confirm eligibility/approval on your behalf.

Evidence/quotes (common for AT): For AT under $15,000, you may not need formal quotes, but you may still need written evidence/cost estimate; over $15,000 generally requires a quote.

What we can provide: A quote/tax invoice and product specs to share with your support coordinator/plan manager/provider.
